OUR FUZZY RULES FOR THE OPEN

TOURNAMENT RULES & RECOGNITION

Download a PDF copy of these rules.

IMPORTANT: These are fuzzy rules because we reserve the right to modify them up to the date of the events. Like the Pirate's Code, think of them more as guidelines. The rules will be rock hard by the date of the Open.

Scoring

Each person registered for an event will play at least two (2) 30-minute matches in that event. Play shall continue for the entire 30 minutes or until the total number of games played equals 12. Standard ad scoring shall apply.

Players shall report their game scores to the Tournament Director at the conclusion of each match (in the case of doubles, your score is the same as your team score). NOTE: Regardless of the actual number of games won, only a maximum of eight (8) games won shall be recorded per match for purposes of tabulating the player’s cumulative score.

At the conclusion of all flights, the Tournament Director shall tabulate each player’s initial Cumulative Score. Should two or more players have the same cumulative score, a tie break score shall be calculated as follows:

  • One point shall be awarded for each game won in excess of the 8 game ceiling in matches they played;

  • One point shall be awarded for every $25 of donations raised by the player (as reflected on the team GoFundMe leaderboard);

  • One point shall be awarded for each point a Player earns in the Fuzzy Balls Open Trivia Contest (as reflected in our scoring platform).
